FIREFOX 3
Great.
Firefox 3 with it’s impressive look and cool plugins is the best browser in the world.
This is clearly a sweeping statement – ‘impressive look’ and ‘cool plugins’ are hardly irrefutable proof that it is the ‘best browser in the world.’ – whatever this actually means…
FIREFOX 3
Tab options
Firefox has always been preferred by those who wish to use multiple tabs when browsing and firefox three now has new tab options. You can unco ‘close tab’ and also open recently closed tabs.
FIREFOX 3
Bookmark options
Bookmarks are incredibly useful, allowing you to be more organised and have the tabs you want to hand.
This doesn’t work when MaAfee security is enabled.

Speed
Firefox is reported to be the fasted browser when it comes to download speed and firefox 3 is no exception.
FIREFOX 3
User compatability
Firefox 3 is the newest incarnation of Mozilla’s Firefox internet browser and it delivers certain advantages over it’s competitors and the older browsers.
Firefox is famed for it’s advantages over the most popular web browser Internet Explorer. These include: speed; tabs; security; ease of use and lighter use of cpu resources.
Firefox’s speed is derived from it’s new rendering engine Gekko 1.9, which enables it to load webpages faster whilst using less system resources overall.
Firefox was one of the first internet browsers to introduce tabbed browsing. and firefox 3 also has this feature. They are easy to use by pressing ctrl + t to activate a new tab, but the new tab button is not on the main bar (next to the refresh button or home button) by default. But you can arrange the buttons next to the main smart location bar however you wish adding and removing buttons for different functions. Furthermore any link clicked on (unless specified) opens up in a new tab rather than a new window, enhancing the user experience.
On the security side, firefox 3 is an open source product and so has the advantages and disadvantages of that. Firefox 3, as like previous firefox browsers are considered probably the most secure on the market. Some of the advantages include: anti-malware and anti-phishing protection, pop-up blocker, full intergration with anit-virus software and also the ability to clear private data with one click. Furthermore, it has an advanced password manager which appears at the top of the screen when logging into websites.
Firefox on the service appears to light and fresh when compared to internet explorer 6, one of its main competitors. The new smart location bar intergrates with your bookmarks and will also suggest the website you are looking for whilst the user types in the web address. Other user features include a search bar in the right hand corner which can be easily interchanged via one click to other providers. Lastly the bookmark feature is easy to use, also only requiring one click. You can also place any bookmark under the smart location bar for easier access.
With Firefox 3 based on the Gekko 1.9 engine, it also means that the browser will now no longer support Windows 95, 98, and Me. The same with Mac OS X, versions 10.2 and earlier.
In terms of user experience the only area Firefox 3 falls to its main competitor (IE7) is a function to do with tabbed browsing. In IE7 there is an option to view all the tabbed webpages in one go, so that you can look through the websites side by side. In firefox you can only browse through the webpages one at a time.
FIREFOX 3
Compatability problems
As with all versions of Firefox some websites only show properly in Internet Explorer and cannot be viewed to their full quality in Firefox. Both Active X and VBscript are not supported by Firefox.
FIREFOX 3
Bugging
The browsers often close themselves with no reason.
FIREFOX 3
Backwards OS Compatability
Firefox 3 will no longer support Windows 95, 98, and Me; same with Mac OS X, versions 10.2 and earlier.
