Predictions in holy books are not based on any scientific fact and are mere speculations. We have no reason to think that the end of the world is soon.
While generally Christians and Muslims worldwide believe the end of the world will come one day, nobody can tell when it will happen. Natural disasters did take place; however they only affected insignificant numbers of people, compared to the worldwide population. I do not think the end of the world will occur anytime soon as the human race has progressed so much socially and technologically that we will be able to continuously adapt to changes around us and keep surviving for generations to come.
