IS IT RIGHT TO RAISE THE TAX ON JUNK FOOD TRYING TO REDUCE OBESITY?
Some people think that raising the taxes on unhealthy food could reduce obesity.
Is it right to raise the tax on junk food trying to reduce obesity?
Yes, because... Helps fat people eat less
Study after study reveals that obesity is most closely related to a high calorie intake than any other factor. Research also connects obesity with most diseases. More to the point this particular study, on college students shows that a fat tax doe snot have an effect on people who already have a healthy diet but who have too many fatty foods do cut down after the tax.[1]
People of all weights, ages and sizes get sick, it's part of the human condition. Fat people are being ostracized to the nines. A health diet is balanced and comprises of fat, protein, vitamins, minerals, water and carbohydrates It is unfair that fat kids are told to starve themselves, when they are perfectly healthy. Dramatic changes(reduction) in diet can have fatal consequences.
Studies revealing the linkages between obesity and disease, ignore the fact that as people get older they are more likely to get sick because they are getting older. And so what if the likelihood of being fat also increases with age?

Is it right to raise the tax on junk food trying to reduce obesity?
No, because... obesity is caused other factors..(parenting guide, overrated advertisment)
Its a shame that fit healthy busy folk should have to pay extra tax to enjoy some junk food. It is NOT the food it is the fatso's being idle bone idle 98% of them. Ask your parents or grandparents how many fat folk were about in their day.....NON and the food then had more calories than junk food.....fact. If we called them FAT it would motivate them to rid themselves of the title instead of pussy footing up to them insinuating it is a desease.... it is NOT A DESEASE. It is lazyness.
parenting guide, for kids, parent have to show proper guide lines in maintaining healthy diet and control their eating habits, they have to control their kids in a way to help them understand that there a risk in junk food consumption.
overrated advertisements , the junk food company need to lower the levels exaggeration of the junk food 'wonders' on advertisement that seem to mislead people to crave in a negative ways. It's not wrong to eat junk food but in a correct and positive manner.
Point 1. Helps fat people eat less

did you even bother reading the point? It did not say obesity is a disease simply that it is not always the child's fault and that there are better ways to prevent obesity.
The way to attack this point is that it would be the parents paying the tax so this would be educating them through their pockets - presuming they would buy what they find cheapest and would soon find junk food to be too expensive. Regulation of advertising is a very indirect way to go about preventing obesity as it assumes that advertising causes much of the buying which may or may not be true, either way get rid of all food advertising now and it would take decades before the advertisements have no more effect as those who have already had habits formed by these ads would continue to eat junk food - more direct action is therefore needed to break the habit.
