Debatewise debateRUGBY LEAGUE IS A MORE SKILLED GAME THAN RUGBY UNION

England RFU

The national side use the cross-code players because they offer much more to the game of rugby union.
Some players offer the speed and skill to deliver the ball quickly and effectively. It also means they are therefore much fitter and can last the game longer.

I beg to differ, rugby union is more skilled because there are so many more areas that require a certain skill, such as scrummaging ( something that is non existant in rugby league) and the ruck.
And as for cross-code players as a Gloucester RFC supporter i have watched Lesley Vainikolo a lot and someone who defense is so poor would find it very hard starting out in rugby union. He was only good in rugby league because he couldn’t be pushed backwards and would always score if you gave him the ball on the 6th tackle right on the opposition line.
