Since the days of the Northern Union, rugby league has progressed to be a faster more skilled form of rugby regardless of the money that is being pumped into the Union game..

The national side use the cross-code players because they offer much more to the game of rugby union.
Some players offer the speed and skill to deliver the ball quickly and effectively. It also means they are therefore much fitter and can last the game longer.
